Bristol and Avon Bird

Sightings

Latteridge 9th February 2021

Managed to get a few more photos of the local Redwings at Organic Blooms, Latteridge while on my break.

Chipping Sodbury
17th February 2021

Me & Dad went for a walk along the Frome Valley to see what was about. A Kingfisher flew up the river & as usual disappeared out of sight. In the quarry, we saw at least 4-5 Stock Doves. A couple of Blackbirds were seen near the bridge on the Frome Valley Walkway. A couple of Grey Wagtails were foraging along the river, until they flew underneath the bridge. Spring is definately on it's way with Snowdrops now in full flower.

Yate & Ridge Woods 26th February 2021

Me & Dad went to Kingsgate Park in Yate to see the Goosanders. There were 6 birds seen on a small lake before they took at 8:00AM & flew towards Cooper's Lake. The Male however misjudged it's take off & had to start again. He eventually managed to catch up with the Females. There were 2 Coal Tits foraging in the conifers & a Goldcrest singing. We also had a quick walk around Ridge Woods & saw Blackcap, a couple of Redwings, Song Thrush & Dunnock. Also singing & calling around the area were Goldcrest, Great Spotted Woodpecker & Nuthatch.

Managed to get a few photos of the Male Blackcap that has been visiting our garden all Winter. He has started to sing a bit now, which is lovely to hear.
