Me & Dad had walk around Chipping Sodbury Common. A couple of Common Redstarts were seen briefly. We found a Magpie Moth on the common as well. A couple of Juvenile Whinchats were on their first migration to Africa. In our garden that evening, Mum found a Brimstone Moth.

Chew Valley Lake 5th September 2021

We went to Chew Valley Lake to see what birds were about. We started at Stratford Hide, where we saw a Little Grebe, Greenshanks, Marsh Harrier, Common Sandpiper, Ringed Plover, Great Crested Grebes & Grey Heron. On the boardwalk was a Male Ruddy Darter. In the carpark, were some mating Migrant Hawkers. We didn't see much at Moreton except a Speckled Wood. We finished at Herriott's Pool with an unusual sighting of a Common Shelduck.

Mayflower, Standish Junction 4th September 2021

We went back to Standish Junction to see 61306 Mayflower on the Welsh Dragon from London Paddington- Shrewsbury.

Although it was getting towards the end of Insect season, there was still a few I managed to find & photographed while working at Organic Blooms. Devil's Coach Horse Beetle, Viburnum Beetle [Pyrrhalta viburni], Scorpion Fly, Dark Strawberry Tortrix & Green Dock Beetles

Slimbridge WWT 12th September 2021

Me & Dad popped to Slimbridge WWT for a couple of hours. We saw a Grey Heron on the Flamingo Pool, it later flew over to the Rushy Pen. In the Rushy Pen, were a Common Snipe, Greylag Geese, few Black-tailed Godwits, Ruff, Spotted Redshanks, Common Redshanks & Greenshanks. We walked along the Summer Walkway, before it closed for the Winter. Two Wood Pigeons were perched on the posts near the path. A couple of Northern Wheatears & Whinchats were along the fence at the edge of the Dumbles. We had a look around the new Avairy, which had captive Spoonbill, Little Egrets, Garganey, Oystercatcher, Common Redshanks & Ringed Plovers.
